This is a LanCay M9 Bayonet with Scabbard in unissued condition. A rare/uncommon first contract transitional model produced in 1995 when they were going from a 4 slot scabbard and natural blade (first contract) to a 2 slot scabbard and black blade (second contract). This is one of the first uses of the "product improved" scabbards, and is from the very last batch of the first contract bayonets made from April 21 - April 28 1995. The first contract was completed on April 28. The Nexus date code on the buckle is 10-1994. It is all original and historically correct bayonet with all of the right parts. The blade and wire cutter plate are coated with cosmoline. The blade edge is factory. Note the blemished area around the ricasso. There are some light scratches/scuffs on the outside from handling/storage, and the handguard has a small ding.. Has original cardboard cover over the cutter plate. Stone is chipped, but one will be included, and is shown in last image and can be glued in with a small bead of silicone. Genuine US Military surplus. Made in the USA.
