This is a General Cutlery GenCut M7 Bayonet with GenCut M10 Scabbard. Both are new old stock in sealed, unopened packages. Genuine Military surplus. Please read information below before purchasing.
The M7 Bayonet: Made in 1987, about 45,800 were produced by GenCut under this 1985 contract. These were stored inside premium quality, sealed boxes (W5 type - weather resistant, 275 pound bursting strength). These boxes were stored inside a plywood crate for decades until they were released by the government in 2019. Bayonets may have erratic sharpening, or other blemishes, but no rust. Made in the USA. FSCM (cage code) 19204, NSN 1005-00-073-9238, Part number 11010077 Images shown are from 2 different knives that were opened for photos. The one you will get is in a sealed package.
The GenCut M10 scabbard: An M7 bayonet will fit very tightly into this GenCut scabbard. It is recommended to put some oil on the blade to make it easier to pull in and out. This was probably an improvement over the older, green M8A1 scabbards to keep the bayonet from falling out of the scabbard. There is no steel spring in the M10 scabbard - the scabbard body is all plastic. Made in the USA. Cage code 20014, NSN 1095-00-223-7164, Part number 8448476
As with all M7 bayonets, if you have a mint one, it is not recommended to put it into the scabbard at all because it will cause scabbard wear/buffing on the sides of the blade.
Because this is genuine military surplus, it can't ever be legally sold to a non-US citizen, or sent out of the U.S. without the proper license. No international shipping.
